Science for Peace and Security is a programme to promote cooperation between scientists from NATO member countries and other cooperating countries.
The results of this cooperation are published in the NATO Science for Peace and Security book series.
Series A: Chemistry and Biology (SpringerLink) Series A addresses the security threats posed by the use of nuclear, biological and chemical weapons.
It covers topics such as detection devices, protection, disposal of chemical agents and decontamination.
In the field of medicine and biology, topics covered include infectious diseases and vaccination, health measures, pharmacology and toxicology, biotechnology, genetics and food safety.
The series includes 40 books from 2007 to the present. Series B: Physics and Biophysics (SpringerLink) Series B addresses security threats arising from the use of nuclear and conventional agents and weapons.
It focuses on detectors, sensors, explosion detection, biosensors and biotechnology, or nuclear safety and security.
The series contains 68 books from 2007 to the present. Series C: Environmental Security (SpringerLink) Series C addresses the scientific and technological aspects of innovative projects related to environmental security.
Included are natural and man-made disasters, climate change, disaster prediction and prevention, and decision support and risk assessment systems.
