Digital Library of the CAS

The Digital Library of the Czech Academy of Sciences contains digitised periodicals and monographs produced by the institutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences and their predecessors. These documents are mostly the result of digitisation in our Digitisation Centre.

In addition to digitized documents, it also contains publications created only in digital form (born-digital documents), mainly newer articles from professional periodicals and electronic monographs published by CAS institutions. The long-term goal of the digitisation strategy of the KNAV is to make all documents published by any of the units of the CAS accessible through the digital library.

Mandatory submission of electronic documents

For the purpose of collecting and long-term archiving of electronic publications issued by the departments of the CAS, individual departments of the CAS are obliged to hand over electronic publications to the Library of the CAS.
In this way, we ensure that all valuable scientific materials are safely preserved and easily accessible for future generations of researchers and those interested in science.
